Maya Angelou (Marguerite Annie Johnson), writer, born 4 April 1928; died 28 May 2014 - She was a dancer, a singer, an actress, a poet, a writer, a magazine editor, a playwright, a film director as well as a college lecturer, full Professor, and a fearless, outspoken activist. This is Maya in her last year, a beautiful face with a lifetime of wisdom. Done in the style of my mother’s art as a tribute to her wisdom and to all the wonderful women elders who hold the torch light toward the best qualities of humanity.
